Rim Wax Competition Winners

The Rim Wax competition has finally come to a close and as promised we are displaying the winners in this post.

As you can see from this picture the first winner is a Honda Civic which sparkles and shines from lights in the tunnel. Not only does this car look clean and well looked after but it also looks like a professional picture with the background and how the car is positioned. The winners name is Mark Loony and I’m sure he can be a proud man knowing not only does he have a fantastic car but it is looked after well and he can take one amazing photo. A tub of Rim Wax will be on its way to you Mr loony.

The other winner in the rim wax competition is a Mr Chris Mellin who looks very happy to be stood next to his beautiful Alfa Romeo. The time and effort he must have spent to get his car so clean it reflect his image in the sun is admirable and Mr Mellin is a very deserved winner. Not only can he stand next to his beautiful car a proud man but a tube of Rim Wax will be on its way to you and i am sure after using it he will be able to notice an even better finish to make his car shine that bit more.

Lets face it we are in a rescission and its hard enough paying for basic essentials never mind keeping up to date with cars. Most people used to buy a car, keep it for a few years and trade it in and pay a bit extra to get a newer upgraded car but now days its hard enough paying for a car and keeping it running for a few years. Everybody likes to have something new but unless you have a really amazing job or make loads of money then it might be a while before you can treat yourself to a new motor.

However if you cannot afford to get yourself a new car then there are other options. Why not buy a new pair of alloy wheels to transform the look of your car and instantly brings it up to date. With hundreds if not thousands of different styles and colours to choose from you can change the appearance of your car and for a fraction of the price in comparison to buying a new car.

What is the purpose of alloy wheels?

Most people may think an alloy wheel is just there to look good and make your motor look a lot better but there are many more positives than just looking good. Another main beneficiary of an alloy wheel is how it affects a cars performance.

An alloy wheel is typically made from either aluminium or magnesium but in quite a few cases they are made from a mixture of both substances. Because they are created from these elements and not the usual element (steel) they become much more lighter but still maintain quite a bit of their durability and also conduct heat much better. The reason alloys conducting heat is a positive thing is because it improves the overall heat dissipation from braking which decreases the possibility of a braking failure. Less chance of a braking failure not only increases the cars performance but also makes the car a lot more safer.

Clearly people don´t folk out around £100-£500 per wheel just because of this. There are many more advantage as well such as a lighter weight of the overall vehicle increases the overall speed, performance, petrol usage and functionality of a vehicle. Not only does the light weight of an alloy wheel increases the speed but another contributing factor is an alloys aerodynamics which also increase speed and lower fuel consumption. Not only are these all great for any petrol head but lets face it, what they do best is improve the overall look of your vehicle.

Magnesium wheels also know as mag wheels are mainly used for racing purposes. The overall mass of a magnesium while is usual 5-9 KG depending on the size which makes them lighter than both steel and aluminium alloys. Although do be careful if you are buying some racing mag wheels to thrash around a race track because there have been a few notable occasions when they have caught fire.
