Leading wheel designer Kei Racing has released a range of precision manufactured lightweight wheel nuts to fit any aftermarket and most OEM wheels.

Both traditional socket-driven hexagonal nuts and tool-driven locking nuts are available in a wide range of colours. Pretty they may be, but don’t make the mistake of confusing them with the current raft of ‘me-too’ designs on the market. The Kei Racing range has the technical credentials to back up its good looks.

Thanks to T-6 heat treatment and unique cold-forged construction the aircraft alloy open-ended racing nuts are 70% stronger than their steel equivalents, despite carrying only 30% of the steel mass. In fact, in independent testing, these nuts surpassed torque settings of over 270 ft/lbs, which greatly exceeds the industry standard. These are available in silver, black and red anodised finishes.

As well as reducing the recipient car’s unsprung weight – perfect for fast road and track applications, these lightweight fixings also make the ultimate finishing touch to any quality wheel and tyre set-up.

The steel locking tuner nuts are available in five different finishes; red, silver, gold, blue and classic black. Although not cold-forged like the nuts, these are still exceptionally tough, precision engineered components and come complete with a key to allow them to be removed with a standard 19mm socket.

The aircraft alloy open-ended racing nuts are priced at £59.77 including VAT for a pack of 20 and steel locking nuts are £19.97 including VAT for four. Most core tuner and motorsport fitments are available.

Never one to rest on their laurels, wheel gurus Kei Racing have released the latest design from their all-new 2009 Collection. Fresh out of the casts for 2009 comes the latest in a long line of brand new designs. The respected manufacturer has been working hard over the winter, designing, testing and manufacturing a superb new range of rims that look as much at home on a Mini as they do on a Mitsubishi.

The stunning Yari contrasts a flawless gloss black finish, contrasted with a precision machined face and innovative stepped and grooved lip. 15″, 17″ and 18″ sizes are available in nearly all 4 stud pattern fitments, covering nearly all Jap, Euro, Tuner and Prestige models. The 17” and 18” are also available in a wide range of 5 stud variants.

The Yari is named after the spear favoured as the weapon of choice for many Samurai warriors in ancient feudal Japan, so it’s highly appropriate for Kei’s cutting-edge wheel technology and design.

Prices start at just £86.43 for the 15” version. For more details please click to Wheelworx or call the team on 01623 412 399

Tyresure, manufacturers of the market-leading Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are encouraging drivers to check their tyre pressures as temperatures plummet. With Winter drawing in and early mornings seeing temperatures nudging zero and below, many motorists are forgetting to check their tyres and adjust for the cooler temperatures.

Air contracts when it is cooled, meaning that first thing in the morning your car tyre pressures could be several pounds lower than they were during the summer months – with an obvious effect on your car’s handling and road manners.

‘As road grip decreases and the threat of black ice becomes ever-more realistic, the condition and inflation of your tyres becomes imperative.’ Explained Tyresure M.D, Ian Smith. ‘It’s wise to check your tyres every week anyway, but this won’t show you, the driver, how the temperature and pressure of your tyres can change as you drive in cold weather. Tyresure uses an easy-to-read visual display that shows a live, real-time display of both tyre pressure and temperature and reassesses the situation every 30 seconds to keep you fully aware of potential hazards.’

Tyresure uses a high-visibility colour display screen that can be fitted in seconds to any car and displays safe temperatures and pressure in green, changing immediately to flashing red should these breach pre-set safety parameters. This means that even in a driver’s peripheral vision, vital tyre safety data can never be missed. The price for this total piece of mind? Just £179.00 for a complete 4 wheel kit and dashboard display. Don’t wait for Christmas, treat yourself to one now!
