The 3SDM 0.05 alloy wheels will originally be available in staggered 18″ size with a range of different finishes, however more sizes will become available in time, along with a 3pc forged version.

Something we have seen plenty of [...]]]> Having been in the alloy wheel business for many years now, we have come across almost every wheel related question anyone can ask, and we always do our best to answer them in the best, most informative way possible – which is exactly the point of this blog post!

Something we have seen plenty of people getting confused and upset about on the internet is the issue of ‘wobbly bolts’ – as the name suggests, wheel bolts which wobble.

Now, upon being offered or discovering they have wobbly bolts, many people either become angry thinking they’ve been given substandard bolts, or become scared that their wheels will fall off it fitted with them, however, they are in fact completely safe and strong.

‘Wobbly bolts’ or ‘Corrective bolts’ are bolts which are designed specifically to allow alloy wheels to be fitted to cars with slightly different bolt patterns. This is done by having an adjustable shim on the bolt which can be moved by up to 2mm (hence the name wobbly) before being tightened, at which point they become just as strong and reliable as any other alloy wheel bolt.

So, if you ever come across this term in the future, or have wobbly bolts in your possession, you can now rest assured that you are dealing with something that is completely safe and secure.

The [...]]]> Leading wheel designers Calibre have officially released their newest wheel, one which is certain to get Volkswagen, and other Euro car fans rather excited.

The wheel in question is an 18″ version of Calibre’s own best selling 15″ Dub wheel, and creates an extremely stylish, stunning design with a ‘pseudo-split’ rim appearance (see picture).

The 18″ Dub is available in a wide variety of PCD’s to fit all of the usual 5-stud suspects, and can also be ordered blank so that custom drilling can be carried out.

It also features a finely polished outer lip, with a healthy protrusion from the hub, and a set of genuine bolts to complete the look. The high-gloss black centre creates a strong visual identity, and ensures that the Dub will look at home on all vehicles, from a T5 to a Toyota.

As with all Calibre wheels, the 18″ Dub has had heat treatment to add extra strength, which allows it to be cast lighter than most wheels of the same integrity, meaning better performance and looks for years to come!
